Once an order has been received, the customised shade sail will be made to your specifications, and should be delivered within 7-10 working days.
Options Available
When ordering your new shade sail, you will need to choose your:
- Edging
- Fixings
- Material
- Colour
You can see all options available below.
If you are uncertain about what options are best for your sail, try our online quiz to find recommendations based on the answers selected.
Edges and Fixings
There are two main edge and fixing options that we recommend:
Option 1 - Concave Edges and D Rings In Each Corner - Installation by the corners only
This is the option for sails which need to be installed by the corners only. The curve is not as deep as our ready made shade sails and you can see examples of how the sail will look in our gallery.
Additional D rings may be needed in the centre of any sides longer than 5m for a square or rectangle, or 7m for a triangle. This is to provide additional support.
Option 2 - Straight Edges and Eyelets Along All Sides - Installation to a frame only
This is the option for sails which need to be attached to a frame. The eyelets are placed in each corner and at regular intervals of 30-40cm along each edge.
Flat edges and eyelets are not suitable for corner only installations, and all eyelets must be used to install the sail to avoid it getting damaged.
We can also offer the following options, but there may be additional costs, and we may require you to provide additional information before the sail is manufactured.
Option 3 - Straight Edges, Eyelets on Two Shorter Sides - Woven pergola strips
This is the option for narrow sails which will be woven through pergola bars. The number of eyelets along the two opposite shorter sides depends on the width of the material.
Option 4 - Mixture of Straight Edges and Eyelets Plus Concave Edges and D Rings - Installation to a wall or fence on one side and remaining corners attached to fixing points
If you need to fix one or two sides of your sail to a straight edge (a wall, fence or beam), the sail can made with one or two straight edges and eyelets in the corners of each straight edges and at regular intervals of 30-40cm in between.
The remaining side will have concave edges and D rings in the remaining corners for you to attach the sail to a pole or fixing point.
This picture is not of one of the Made to Measure Shade Sails, and is just being shown to give an example of the option.
Please note, you cannot have a shade sail with straight edges and just D rings in each corner.
